Stewart receives Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award

On Wednesday, May 8, 2019, the Coastal Georgia Council Boy Scouts of America held its annual Good Scout Dinner at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront, featuring Vince Dooley, the legendary former UGA coach as guest speaker. During the event, three outstanding community leaders and one of the community’s preeminent mentoring organizations were honored with the Whitney M Young, Jr. Award for their service and dedication to the young people in our community. One of the honorees included Moncello Stewart, President of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. - Tau Beta Sigma Chapter of Savannah. The purpose of the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award is to recognize outstanding services by an adult individual or an organization for demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for youth from rural or low-income urban backgrounds. This is in fulfillment of Dr. Young’s dream of justice and equality for all.
